Position: Web Design Support Intern (Temporary)

The North Carolina Society of Hispanic Professionals (NCSHP) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit statewide organization whose mission is to promote education among Hispanic youth in North Carolina. NCSHP concentrates on the educational needs of Hispanic students. The intent of NCSHP is to develop and secure educational opportunities to improve Hispanic youth’s success and school performance. The main area of coverage of NCSHP’s activities is the Triangle (Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill). NCSHP’s office is located in Cary, NC.

Position Title: Web Design Support Intern


The NCSHP Web Design Support Intern is a temporary position for a 2-month period, with possibility for an extension. This intern position will manage all aspects of a responsive website, including coding, uploading content, photographs and videos as well as forms. In addition, this position will be responsible for debugging issues that affect the performance of the website. One of the main duties will be to finalize the content and function of our website at the Wix platform. Additionally, the Web Design Support Intern will collect, monitor and review statistics and provide analysis on the website’s health, engagement and performance.

Compensation: $10.00/ hr.

Hours: 20 hours/week, Flexible Schedule Mon. – Fri. Some evenings and weekends may be required. This position is NOT virtual/remote, candidates MUST be present at our office in Cary, NC.

Internship Timeframe: November 12, 2019 –  January 31, 2020

Required Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Technology, Web Designer, Graphic Design or related fields
  • At least a year of relevant experience in web design/development
  • Experience with front end website design, including a working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, WordPress, and Wix
  • Proficient with Adobe applications
  • Experience consulting with marketing team to create cohesive designs that reflect company’s mission and goals
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on accurate spelling, grammar and punctuation
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English (verbal and written)
  • Portfolio or Samples of your work
